• HETZNER ONLINE WELCOMES NEW APPRENTICES IN GUNZENHAUSEN AND NUREMBERG

  • Gunzenhausen/Germany – 4. September 2023

For five young adults, their very first workday took place at Hetzner Online, the web hosting provider and data center operator, at its headquarters in Gunzenhausen and at its data center park in Nuremberg. The trainees just started their apprenticeships in Computer Science for either System Integration or Software Development.

The apprentices’ mentors and Hetzner’s People Operations Team officially greeted the apprentices for the 2023 school year on 1 September, and led them through an orientation to give them a good start in their new and exciting studies and careers. In addition to getting to know each other and some new work friends, the apprentices got some interesting insights about how the company works.

Giving apprentices a solid education is something that Hetzner Online has always cared deeply about. “Apprentices who start work today will become the experts and leaders of tomorrow. They’ll help shape and mold the company long into the future. Plus, the demand for well-qualified IT experts simply continues to grow as we as a company grow”, explained Kathrin Schuster, Head of People Operations.

“Completing an apprenticeship in Computer Science at Hetzner Online opens a lot of doors for people in our rapidly changing branch of IT. We are proud of our 90% success rate, meaning that 90% of our apprentices become full-time employees after they’re done with their training. Many remain with us long into their careers”, explained Schuster.

During their three-year training program, apprentices mostly learn a variety of programming languages as well as the fundamentals of software development, server administration, and networking technologies.

Hetzner Online is already looking for apprentices for the 2024 school year. Potential applicants can see more information at career.hetzner.com.
