Gunzenhausen/Heidenheim, November 2015. Hetzner Online donates servers and supports Hahnenkamm Elementary School in Heidenheim
Some hardware in the IT lab of Hahnenkamm Elementary School was no longer current and was on its last legs. To encourage students to once again have fun and take an interest in computer classes, Hetzner Online, the webhoster and data center operator from Gunzenhausen donated 17 servers. These were transported and connected to standard desktop computers by the firm Glaser GmbH & Co. Trade LP.Principal Wolfgang Frank and his representative Michaela Kirchmeier were thrilled with this generous gesture and, in the name of the school, thanked Christian Fitz and Eva Michel (Hetzner Online) and Michael Buckel (Glaser) for the installation of the new IT system.
In recent years, it has become increasingly important for students to interact with PCs as part of their normal school day. In addition to regular computer classes, the IT lab at Hahnenkamm Elementary will be used to do internet-based research, for learning platforms, and to create presentations.
Hetzner Online is aware of the some-what poorly equipped situation of German schools and is happy that, by making such donations, it can do its small part to improve the learning environment and the education of local school children. "The children of today are tomorrow's employees. For this reason, it is very important to us, that these children receive a solid education in media competence and that we help support the development of skills these young people need for a future in today's society," said Head of Marketing Christian Fitz. -
