Gunzenhausen – 1. January 2015
Gunzenhausen/Germany, January 2015. Twenty-eight computers donated by webhosting provider and data center operator Hetzner Online will facilitate the media education work of the Evang. Jugendsozialarbeit (EJSA – Protestant Youth Social Work) in Ansbach.
Director of the EJSA, Deacon Thomas Raithel thanked Hetzner Online AG for its generosity at the official handover which was attended by members of the company's management, marketing and personnel team. Deacon Raithel complimented Hetzner Online AG on its commitment: “Both volunteers and young people are delighted with this valuable aid.“EJSA Rothenburg gemeinnützige GmbH is a non-profit-making organisation which operates a PC studio in Schillingsfürst and a multimedia and IT club in Ansbach for young people. The informal meeting place 'Internetfreaks' and a hardware workshop are currently being run in Schillingsfürst. A media club for girls takes place each week in Ansbach. Further activities are being planned as a result of an integration project which has recently been approved and started.
The low-threshold computer activities encourage young people to become more acquainted with the functionality of a PC and the Internet and to use modern multimedia creatively. Participants gain a deeper understanding of PCs, the Internet and modern media and are instructed in the responsible use thereof.
The media education leisure activities were set up in 2006 by means of a state-subsidised youth integration project for young people with or without migration backgrounds. The current debate on integration shows how important it is to provide young people from different cultures with the chance to meet together in a friendly atmosphere. ”A shared interest in multimedia and modern methods of communication is a great help in breaking down possible social and culture barriers,” said Raithel. -
